Walt Disney Imagineering (WDI) is the research, design and engineering division of Disney parks, experiences and products business, tracing to WED Enterprises founded by Walt Disney in 1952, headquartered in Glendale, California. It designs and builds Disney theme parks, resorts and entertainment technologies worldwide. In humanoid/character robotics, Imagineering developed the Stuntronics aerial-stunt robot (revealed 2018) for park stunt performances and the Na'vi Shaman humanoid animatronic (about 2.5 m) featured in the Pandora: The World of Avatar land (opened 2017 at Disney Animal Kingdom).
