About

Enchanted Tools SAS is a French robotics company based at 18 rue de la Fontaine au Roi in the eleventh arrondissement of Paris, founded in 2021 and led by Jerome Monceaux, who previously founded SPooN.ai and its Character Factory and who co-created Nao and Pepper as a co-founder of Aldebaran Robotics, giving him more than fifteen years in social robotics. Its co-founder and Head of Marvels is Samuel Benveniste, formerly deputy head and chief technology officer at CEN STIMCO. The company describes its aim as being more than merely useful, saying it wants to enchant the world through impactful technological innovation while always prioritising ethical and responsible practice, and to blend usefulness with enchantment. Its product is the Mirokaï, which it calls the world's first enchanted social robot: a character robot that balances on a patented spherical base rather than legs or wheels, giving it omnidirectional movement and turns in place, with an animated face projected in real time in three dimensions so that it is expressive without falling into the uncanny valley. Two characters exist on the platform, Miroki and Miroka, and the company runs a three-level customisation programme that can dress a character in branded outfits, build a new character on the same platform, or create an entirely original character. The Mirokaï is published at 123 cm tall, 29 kg, with 26 degrees of freedom including a three-degree-of-freedom ball base, a top speed of 3.2 km/h and a battery designed for four hours of operation with one hour of charging, and it sells for around USD 30,000 with monthly maintenance fees that vary by requirement and country. It is roughly a third of the price of comparable humanoid platforms and the company reports a 97 per cent grasp success rate as its own figure. Its technology is deliberately multi-model agnostic rather than tied to one large language model, and the robot covers context-aware interaction, environmental perception, operational autonomy including autonomous docking and charging, human-centric safety, adaptive navigation and precision manipulation. It is aimed at hospitals and clinics, nursing homes, supported living, retail, hotels and restaurants, airports and museums, with customer problems framed around staffing shortages, resident isolation and fragmented information, and benefits claimed as freeing up to two hours of staff time per day and improving continuity of care. The company says care teams spend up to thirty per cent of their day on repetitive tasks. Mirokaï robots are available for their first commercial deployments, with customers and pilot sites including the Annie Girardot care home in France, LiveOak and the Mather Institute, Lyon airport and the ICM. The company employs more than 140 people in Paris and is advised by a science and innovation board that includes figures from Inria, CNRS, ISIR, ICAROS at the University of Naples, Saint-Gobain, Renault and the Broca Living Lab. It raised a EUR 17 million seed round, described as the largest early-stage robotics raise in France, and works with Accenture on international distribution.
