Founded in October 2023, Shenzhen EngineAI Robotics Technology Co., Ltd. is a high-tech enterprise specializing in general-purpose intelligent humanoid robots and industry-specific scenario solutions. Founder Zhao Tongyang has been deeply involved in the legged robotics field since 2016, leading the team with the spirit of "Unity for the Future" to endow robots with soul and warmth. The team comprises members from China's first legged robot research and development and industrial implementation teams, as well as top universities including Tsinghua University, the University of Hong Kong, and UC Berkeley. They possess full-stack independent research and development capabilities, covering robot body design, key components, motion control algorithms, and embodied intelligence. EngineAI has built a complete product matrix: In July 2024, it released the open-source platform SA01; in October, it launched the flagship SE01, achieving the industry's first human-like natural gait; in December, it unveiled the lightweight, highly dynamic, fully open general-purpose embodied intelligent robot PM01. In February 2025, PM01 completed the world's first humanoid robot front flip. In December 2025, the company released the full-size, high-performance general-purpose humanoid robot T800, available in four versions: Basic, Ecosystem, Pro, and Max, with a starting price of 180,000 RMB for the Basic version. The T800 stands 1.73 meters tall and weighs 75 kilograms. It features aerospace-grade high-strength aluminum alloy integrated die-casting, fully independently developed joints with a peak torque of 450 N·m, and is equipped with the world's first solid-state battery for humanoid robots, achieving a battery life of 4-5 hours. The company has completed multiple financing rounds, accumulating nearly 1 billion RMB. It plans a 12,000 square meter manufacturing base in Shenzhen and has established a production line in Zhengzhou with an annual capacity of 5,000 units. In January 2026, the company completed its joint-stock reform and initiated a strategic cooperation with Chuanyuezhe to launch a humanoid robot astronaut exploration program. EngineAI has received multiple honors, including the GGII Golden Robot Award and a place in the Forbes China AI Technology Enterprise Top 50.
