About

Genesis AI, registered as Genesis AI SAS and based in Paris with offices in California and London, is a French full-stack robotics company founded in December 2024 by Zhou Xian and Theophile Gervet. Zhou Xian is the chief executive and holds a robotics PhD from Carnegie Mellon University, where he led the open-source Genesis generative physics engine; Theophile Gervet is president and was previously a researcher at the French foundation-model company Mistral AI. The team numbers around sixty people, split roughly evenly between Europe and the United States. The company's thesis is that a general-purpose robot should extend human capability rather than imitate human form, and it sells that argument through Eno, its first general-purpose robot, unveiled on 16 June 2026. Eno has no head and no legs: it uses a wheeled base with a set of articulated panels that adjust height and reach in real time and fold away for storage, topped by human-scale dexterous hands with ten fingers that are aligned in form and function with a human hand so the robot can use tools, fixtures and environments designed for people. Eno is driven by GENE, the company's own robot-native foundation model, whose GENE-26.5 release on 6 May 2026 the company describes as the first robot brain to give human-level manipulation, supporting millimetre-level precision on complex long-horizon tasks. Rather than executing isolated commands, Genesis AI positions Eno as a physical agent that takes a high-level goal and manages it end to end, understanding context, retaining memory, reasoning when conditions change and planning multi-step work; an optional screen version carries a cognitive interface that displays the robot's intent, reasoning and status so its decisions are visible to the people around it. The design leads with task requirements over form, and the company's target sectors are automotive, electronics, pharmaceuticals and logistics, where fine work defeats conventional robot arms. Commercially, Genesis AI announced a long-term strategic partnership with LG CNS on the same day it unveiled Eno, covering evaluation and deployment in LG's US factories and among LG CNS industrial customers, with mass production and targeted customer delivery planned before the end of 2026, starting with manufacturing, logistics and laboratory customers and later extending to hotels, hospitals and eventually the home. In July 2025 the company raised a USD 105 million seed round from Khosla Ventures, Eclipse Capital and HSG, formerly Sequoia China, with Eric Schmidt, the former Google chief executive, investing personally; the round matched Mistral AI's record as the largest seed round in French history. The company states it has no plans to list, and its co-founder has said it is raising for the next phase.
