Kondo Kagaku Co., Ltd. (近藤科学株式会社) is a Japanese robotics and radio-control manufacturer based in Arakawa-ku, Tokyo, established in September 1964 with capital of JPY 50 million. Its business is the planning, manufacture and sale of radio-control wireless equipment and of educational and hobby robots, and its representative director is Hirotoshi Kondo. The company is best known for the KHR series of bipedal walking humanoid robot assembly kits, whose current generation is the KHR-3HV Ver.3.1, offered as a battery-included set and as a 22-axis version built from an expansion servo set; the KHR-3HV introduced the KRS-2552R3HV servo supporting ICS3.6 and is programmed with the HeartToHeart4 motion software. Alongside the KHR bipeds, Kondo sells the KXR series of general-purpose assembly kits, four- and six-legged multi-legged robot kits, arm robots and expansion units, and it manufactures its own servo families (PMX, B3M and KRS) together with control boards, sensors, wireless units, frames, batteries and tools. The company also publishes extensive technical documentation and development material for its servos and control boards, maintains a dealer network and a list of educational resellers, and is associated with events such as RoboOne. With around 22 employees it remains a small, engineering-led manufacturer that supplies both hobbyists and educational institutions, and it operates the kondo-robot.com product and support site.
