Mentee Robotics
Mentee Robotics is a technology company focused on developing humanoid robots, founded in late 2021 by Amnon Shashua, the founder of Mobileye, among others, and headquartered in Israel. The company integrates computer vision and generative AI as its core technologies, aiming to build humanoid robots with advanced perception, reasoning, and natural interaction capabilities. Its first prototype, MenteeBot, was publicly unveiled in April 2024. It demonstrated the ability to execute complex tasks through natural language instructions and achieved breakthroughs in VLA (Vision-Language-Action) and Sim2Real (Simulation-to-Reality) transfer technologies. Its unique Real2Sim2Real (Reality-to-Simulation-to-Reality) approach enables robots to rapidly learn new skills from minimal human demonstration data. In January 2026, Mobileye announced the acquisition of Mentee Robotics for approximately $900 million, with the deal expected to close in the first quarter of 2026. Following the acquisition, Mentee will operate as an independent business unit under Mobileye, and its technology will be deeply integrated with Mobileye’s expertise in driving automation to jointly advance the development of "Physical AI." According to plans, Mentee Robotics’ humanoid robots are set to begin customer-site concept validation in 2026, with the goal of achieving large-scale mass production by 2028.
