About

Midea Group is a globally leading home appliance and robotics company, extending its experience in intelligent manufacturing to the R&D of humanoid robots, promoting the integrated development of smart home and industrial automation. Midea's strategic deployment in robotics can be traced back to the establishment of its Corporate Research Center in 2014. Subsequently, through the acquisition of KUKA Group in 2017, the approval of the "National Key Laboratory of Heavy-Duty Robotics" (Blue Orange Lab) in 2022, and the establishment of the Humanoid Robot Innovation Center in 2024, Midea has built full-chain independent R&D capabilities from core components to complete systems. In addition to the industrial-grade "Melo" series, Wei Chang also revealed that the "Mila" series, designed for commercial and home scenarios, has entered final testing and is planned to be deployed in Midea's offline experience stores in 2026, undertaking tasks such as guidance and demonstration. Regarding future plans, Wei Chang stated that Midea will continue to increase R&D investment in AI and robotics, with large-scale application of humanoid robots being a key direction. "The core challenge for the industry right now is solving the problem of 'technical value realization on the ground.' Through continuous technological iteration and deep cultivation of scenarios, we are driving humanoid robots from laboratories to large-scale production and real-life applications."
