QRIO is Sony bipedal humanoid robot, the final iteration of the SDR series (named Quest for cuRIOsity), announced in 2003. Standing about 58 cm and weighing about 7 kg with 38 DOF, it can sing, dance, converse with dialogue, show facial expressions and recognize faces and voices. In 2005 QRIO became the world first bipedal humanoid robot to run, reaching about 1 m/s. Sony discontinued the home robot business in 2006, ending the QRIO program.
