Beijing Innovation Center of Humanoid Robotics Co., Ltd (北京人形机器人创新中心, known as Beijing Humanoid or X-Humanoid) was founded in November 2023 as China's first full-stack embodied-intelligence company covering both software and hardware, and is jointly initiated by Beijing Jingcheng Machinery Electric, Xiaomi, UBTECH, E-Town Robotics and Shoucheng Capital among others. In October 2024 the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology and the Beijing Municipal Government jointly designated it the National and Local Co-built Embodied Intelligence Robot Innovation Center. The center works on two core platforms: the general-purpose robot hardware platform 'Embodied Tiangong' (具身天工) and the general-purpose embodied intelligence platform 'HuiSi KaiWu' (慧思开物), which is built on a one-brain-many-machines principle so a single intelligence stack can drive different robots and capabilities. Its Embodied Tiangong hardware line began with Tiangong 1.0 LITE in April 2024, the first full-size all-electric humanoid to walk with a human-like gait, and progressed through Tiangong 1.1 PRO and 1.2 MAX to Embodied Tiangong 3.0, alongside the wheeled service robot Tian Yi (天轶), released in August 2024 with an embodied emotional model co-developed with Peking University. On the software side the center open-sourced the embodied world model WoW in October 2025 and leads work on a million-scale embodied intelligence dataset. It built and, on 29 January 2026, officially launched Beijing's first pilot verification platform, covering 9,700 square metres with 500 sets of production and test equipment and an annual capacity of 5,000 embodied intelligence robots, where a customer-customised humanoid rolled off the line as the 1,000th unit on the day it opened. The center has an expert committee chaired by Chinese Academy of Sciences academician Qiao Hong and works with partners including JD.com, ZTE, Audi FAW and Bayer on warehousing, automotive and pharmaceutical pilots. It completed its first market-based financing round in February 2026, raising more than 700 million yuan from the Beijing AI Industry Investment Fund, E-Town Capital, the Beijing High-Grade Precision Fund and Huakong Fund, with strategic investment from Baidu and Kyland Technology. The center is also the most successful competitor in humanoid robotics sport: Embodied Tiangong Ultra won the world's first humanoid half marathon in April 2025 in 2 hours 40 minutes 42 seconds, fully autonomously; at the first World Humanoid Robot Games in August 2025 the center took two gold, six silver and two bronze medals and Tiangong Ultra became the first humanoid to break 100 metres, winning in 21.50 seconds; at the second World Humanoid Robot Games in 2026 it entered four self-developed robots in more than 40 events and won 15 gold, 12 silver and 18 bronze medals while setting 34 event records, the most of any entrant, with Tiangong Ultra holding five new world records including 100 metres in 8.64 seconds, 400 metres in 38.15 seconds, 1,500 metres in 2 minutes 21.64 seconds, a 3.40 metre standing high jump and a 4.83 metre standing long jump. In the 2026 Beijing Yizhuang humanoid half marathon, a Huazhong University of Science and Technology team running an Embodied Tiangong 3.0 finished in 2 hours 5 minutes 57.5 seconds, first among all Tiangong 3.0 university teams and 24th of 105 entrants, beating Tiangong Ultra's own title-winning time from the previous year.
