The Italian Institute of Technology (IIT) is an Italian research institute founded in 2003 and headquartered in Genoa. Its iCub Facility develops open-source humanoid platforms including iCub (104 cm, 33 kg with battery pack, 53 DOF) and the wheeled service-humanoid prototype R1, supporting embodied AI, cognitive robotics, manipulation and safe human-robot interaction research.
