Rainbow Robotics Co., Ltd.
Rainbow Robotics Co., Ltd., known in Korean as 레인보우로보틱스 and in Chinese as 彩虹机器人, is a South Korean robotics company founded in 2011 and headquartered at 1095 Jiphyeon-dong in Sejong, with a United States office in Arlington Heights, Illinois. It describes itself as a full-stack robotics company rooted in humanoid technology, and its own account of its origins is that its challenge began with HUBO, Korea's first humanoid robot. That lineage is the company's founding claim: it says it secured core humanoid technology through HUBO and then built out an entire product family on top of it, with the stated purpose of raising customer productivity rather than demonstrating technology. Its product range is unusually broad for a robotics company and covers collaborative robots in the RBC and RBC-N series, mobile robots in the RBM series, mobile manipulators, the RBY series of mobile dual-arm humanoid platforms including the RB-Y1 and RB-Y2, quadruped robots in the RBQ series, and the ASTRO series of robotic automation systems. It sells itself to customers as one partner for every robot, arguing that a single linked system lowers the cost of adoption while reducing operating burden, and it markets reliability, uptime and ease of use as its commercial differentiators. Beyond hardware it runs an automation solutions business covering process analysis, system design, robot and equipment integration and operational validation, and a research platform business supplying development robots to research institutes and specialist markets. Its robots are presented for manufacturing, logistics, medical, agriculture, food and beverage, defence, education and entertainment applications. In the United States it operates through a local subsidiary at 3550 Salt Creek Lane in Arlington Heights, Illinois. The company trades on the Korean market under the code 277810, and Samsung Electronics became its largest shareholder, a transaction that went through Korean Fair Trade Commission review in 2025.
