The University of Tokyo is Japan leading national research university, founded in 1877 in Tokyo. Its musculoskeletal humanoid program (JSK Lab, Prof. Masayuki Inaba) developed humanoids with human-like musculoskeletal structures, including Kotaro, Kojiro (2008, about 158 cm / 56 kg) and Kenshiro, for whole-body and musculoskeletal robotics research.
