AIMY — short for 'AI Meet You' — is AeiROBOT's indoor welcome robot, built to greet visitors and give them information. It stands 150 cm and weighs 44 kg, with 23 degrees of freedom across a 1-DoF waist, two 4-DoF arms, a 2-DoF head and two 6-DoF hands, and it carries two displays: an 8-inch TFT LCD in the head and a 13.3-inch TFT LCD touchscreen in the body, so a conversation can be paired with visual content. Computing is an AMD Ryzen 5 7600 with an NVIDIA RTX 4060 Ti, and it senses through depth, infrared and tracking cameras plus a laser sensor, using autonomous driving technology to move around indoor spaces. Its stated differentiator is not navigation but manners: AeiROBOT argues that existing guide robots overlook the finer points of human-robot interaction, and that AIMY's small touches make visitors feel respected. In practice that means it makes eye contact with the person it is addressing and generates listening gestures automatically during conversation. It also integrates a large language model such as ChatGPT for natural dialogue and faster, more accurate answers. The platform is modular, so customers compose the functions they need onto a base unit and can add optional 6-DoF hands to widen the services it offers. AIMY has been installed at Seoul Gangseo Library and at Hanyang University's nursing simulation centre, and it won a New Idea Award at HCI KOREA 2024.
