Computing
Oversonic's cognitive platform, a software ecosystem sold with the robot. Its components include multilingual conversation, a mission building and execution graph, an ML Studio for vision training, a multimodal reasoning engine, predictive maintenance, a healthcare suite and an integrated touch display. Connectivity is WiFi 6 and 5G ready. The robot exposes APIs for ERP and MES integration and is monitored through a cloud console that also handles fleet management, and the company lists a teach pendant based on Oculus among the available services. No processor, module or accelerator is published.
Sensors
Navigation by lidars and cameras; vision and video streaming; depth cameras; a thermal camera available on request; motor controls with power and force feedback; and sensor-based obstacle detection rated SIL 3

RoBee R is Oversonic's flagship industrial humanoid and the variant the company says was the first cognitive humanoid made in Italy to reach the market and the first certified to operate in a factory. It is built to work in spaces designed for people rather than in a fenced cell: it has two arms, anthropomorphic proportions and a mobile base rather than legs, so it moves through a workshop on a wheeled navigation base with both differential and omnidirectional drive, at up to 1.2 m/s and up to an 8 per cent slope, with SIL 3 obstacle detection. It stands 165 to 199 cm depending on extension, weighs up to 293 kg, occupies a 65 by 71 cm footprint and reaches 95 cm with its arms. Manipulation is quantified precisely: cognitive accuracy of plus or minus 3 mm, deterministic accuracy of plus or minus 1 mm and repeatability of plus or minus 0.8 mm, with 7.5 kg per arm and 15 kg bimanual, which is enough for the assembly, machine-tending and handling tasks the company targets. Sensing combines lidars, cameras, depth cameras and an optional thermal camera, plus power and force feedback through the motor controls. Power comes from lithium-ion batteries for up to eight hours with inductive automatic recharge and quick battery change on AC 230 V. The robot talks: a voicebot with audio-video chat and voice commands runs through a 60 W speaker and cardioid microphone, and it connects over WiFi 6 with 5G readiness. On top of the hardware sits Oversonic's cognitive platform, whose components include multilingual conversation, a mission graph, an ML Studio for vision training, a multimodal reasoning engine and predictive maintenance, with APIs for ERP and MES integration and a cloud console for monitoring and fleet management. It is certified to CE marking and the Machinery Directive 2006/42/CE and carries ISO 27001, ISO 6 cleanroom, EMC-EMI, IPX4 and GDPR compliance. It is one of three RoBee variants, alongside RoBee M for healthcare and RoBee F for intralogistics.

Application Scenarios

Industrial manufacturing and assembly; machine tending; material handling; collaborative work alongside operators in environments built for people. The healthcare and intralogistics variants are covered by separate records: RoBee M for hospitals, rehabilitation centres and elderly care, and RoBee F for warehouses and internal material flows.
