Toyota Partner Robot is a human-friendly companion robot series announced in 2004 (shown at Expo 2005) with bipedal and wheel-based versions. The 2007 bipedal version, about 1.2 m tall and about 20 kg, walks flexibly and plays the violin, trumpet and erhu, demonstrating precise dexterous manipulation. It represents Toyota early humanoid robot research aimed at coexistence and service alongside humans.
