PAL Robotics S.L. is a Spanish service-robotics company founded in 2004 in Barcelona, where a group of engineers set out to build Europe's first fully autonomous humanoid biped robot. Its mission is to enhance people's quality of life through service robotics, and it specialises in customisable, tailor-made robotic platforms and modular components that adapt to each client's needs. The company designs and sells a portfolio that spans humanoid and legged research robots (TALOS, REEM-C, KANGAROO), mobile manipulators (TIAGo Pro, TIAGo), mobile bases (TIAGo OMNI Base, TIAGo Base), the RFID inventory robot StockBot and the assistive platform ARI, plus legacy platforms kept under a hall of fame. It has been part of more than 60 EU and collaborative research projects since its first, Factory in a Day, in 2014, and its platforms are used in industry, healthcare, retail, agrifood, logistics, education and research, with robots serving people in more than 30 countries. PAL Robotics reports around 100 team members and 200 partners, is headquartered in Barcelona with offices in Toulouse (France) and Bari (Italy), and is active in robotics associations including euRobotics, ADRA, AER Automation, ÁNIMA and the IFR. The company is led by CEO Francesco Ferro and remains privately held.
